Iva Mayer

Iva qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from the Faculty of Veterinary medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia in 2002 where she also finished her postgraduate program and obtained her PhD in small animal medicine. Iva then spent 12 years at the University of Zagreb as a clinician and lecturer in internal medicine and dermatology. In 2015 she was promoted to Assistant Professor of small animal internal medicine.

 Iva and her family moved to the UK in 2017, working in small animal practice in Wiltshire and Kent before joining us at ICR vets in 2020 as a senior consulting vet. She is the author and co-author of several books and scientific papers in the field of small animal medicine and dermatology and her interests lie in dermatology, allergology and immune mediated diseases.

Iva enjoys working through all aspects of dermatology, ranging from pruritic cats, chronic anal gland/ear issues to complex allergy cases.
