Sophie has been a qualified veterinary nurse since 2008 after studying at Napier University. She started her career as a nurse working in a predominantly ophthalmic practice and moved to Pentland Vets in January 2017. As a registered veterinary nurse Sophie has a number of responsibilities including: monitoring patients under general anaesthesia, prepping and recovering patients from surgery, taking radiographs, inpatient care, nursing consultations and laboratory work. Sophie is also responsible for ordering stock, pharmacy work and being a point of contact for clients. Sophie has a keen interest in the surgical aspect of the job and enjoys the practical and hands on part of her role.
Outside of practice you will find Sophie on a polo pitch either playing tournaments or practicing with the rest of her team. Sophie also enjoys long walks with her dog Clemmie the miniature dachshund.
