Currently completing her level 6 diploma in Animal Physiotherapy with The College of Animal Physiotherapy.

Ellen qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and joined the ICR team in 2020. Ellen always hoped to complete further study in Veterinary Physiotherapy, and after completing an initial introductory training in cruciate rehabilitation at ICR Vets, she decided to take the leap.

What made you interested in veterinary physiotherapy?

“In 2019 I rescued my dog, Cora. At five months old she began exhibiting signs of pain. After taking her for a veterinary examination and x-rays, Cora was diagnosed with hip dysplasia; a developmental condition which affects the formation of the hip joint that will worsen over time. After careful consideration, the decision was made to manage her pain through daily pain relief, physiotherapy sessions and acupuncture.

Managing Cora’s hip dysplasia, and witnessing first-hand the improvement she made, has been a driving factor in my physiotherapy pursuit. Without these treatments, I feel she wouldn’t be the bouncy, five- year- old “puppy” she is today. I am excited to be able to provide this service not only to our clients but further afield.”
