Kayleigh Walsh - Practice Director
Kayleigh Walsh VN ECC RVN Practice Director

Kayleigh qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014 at the Athlone Institute of Technology in Ireland. She has worked as an RVN in various positions since qualifying, including small animal practice, large animal and mixed practice, equine practice, and in emergency and critical care hospitals.

Kayleigh joined ICR Vets in October 2017, originally intending to stay in the UK for a year before moving to mainland Europe. However, she loved the ICR team so much that she decided to stay!

In January 2023, Kayleigh took up the position of Practice Director at ICR Vets. Her new role involves the leadership and management of our four sites, as well as supporting our wonderful teams in their day-to-day work.

Kayleigh is responsible for implementing new initiatives, which can vary from clinical drives and operational adjustments to team development. Her favourite project to date has been working with the “Positive Pawprint” programme, a large initiative which works towards improving all aspects of our “people”, our “patients”, and our “planet”. Kayleigh has worked hard with the team to reduce our carbon footprint, while promoting environmentally friendly alternatives throughout our hospital and branches.

Kayleigh is also involved in the IVC Academy for newly graduated Veterinary Nurses and works as a VN support tutor alongside her full-time role. She is passionate about supporting and encouraging the newest additions to the profession, ensuring they feel motivated and encouraged to bring new ideas and projects to practice.

Outside of the practice, Kayleigh is very keen on hiking and exploring. She also enjoys pottering about her allotment, where she grows various fruits and vegetables, accompanied by her loyal collie companion, Bella.
